The density determination method of cemented carbide stipulates: when weighing a sample within 10g, the sensitivity of the balance should be 0.1mg, and the sensitivity of the sample above 10g should be 0.001% of the weighing; the container size should be selected appropriately, if it is greater than 10cm3 When the sample is put into the liquid, the rise of the liquid level is not more than 2.5mm, and the liquid is distilled water or deionized degassed water.


Density is an important product quality index of cemented carbide. Under the condition of a certain composition, the density reflects the structure of the alloy. When the porosity in the alloy is large or there is free carbon, the density is low. When the eta phase appears in the alloy, the density is higher. The main factors affecting the porosity and density of the alloy are insufficient wet grinding time, low green compact density, incomplete degassing, insufficient sintering temperature and time, and mixing of impurities.
